Seniors face many problems. Included in those problems are the need for an
accessible place to meet their peers and special help with the problems
of aging. Also, because many are living on fixed incomes and have inadequate housing, many
require some economic help through programs provided by the state and federal governments.
During the last four years Laguna Beach, in cooperation with Laguna Seniors, Inc., has worked to assure a new Senior Center. The current senior center in Laguna Beach is old, cramped and inadequate. It is not easily accessible to people with mobility problems. The City and Laguna Seniors are approaching completion of this center, with appropriate parking. The center should be open within the next year. |
